The advantages of intermodal transport

Sustainability

Over long distances, intermodal transport remains an economical and ecological solution, producing less CO2 and optimising costs between customers with trains or river barges capable of carrying large quantities of goods, as well as relatively low energy consumption per unit of goods transported.

Flexibility

Intermodal transport offers an extremely flexible logistics solution, adapted to a wide variety of goods flows. It is the optimum solution for transporting bulky goods. New transhipment systems for semi-trailers enable efficient loading and a large daily volume from road to rail.

Security

By using rail or river for part of the trip, intermodal transport offers a safer alternative to road transport by reducing the risk of accidents, giving greater control over the loading of goods and reducing exposure to weather conditions and the risks associated with driver tiredness.

FAQ

For all investment projects, you must have signed a bonus agreement before ordering your equipment, to prove the ‘incentive’ nature required by the rules of the mechanism.

The ‘incentive’ aspect of the scheme is defined as encouraging beneficiaries to choose more efficient and more energy-saving solutions before the decision is even taken. Any energy-saving action that is not an incentive or that is carried out after the contractual commitment to the operation is considered a windfall and cannot be the subject of an application for financial help.

That’s why you need to contact us before ordering your equipment. We’ll send you an bonus agreement, checking beforehand that your project is eligible.

Only equipment purchased or leased new may be the subject of an application for financial help.

For example, an intermodal transport unit that has already been put into service or resold on the second-hand marketwill not be eligible for financial help, as this would also be considered a windfall effect.
